Horrible incident in Konya: A vehicle exploded while in motion! There are fatalities and injuries

In Konya's Selçuklu district, an explosion in a moving vehicle led to fatalities and injuries. Two people lost their lives, while two others were injured.

EXPLOSION OCCURRED AT THE HOSPITAL EXIT

The incident took place in front of the Emergency Department of Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital in the Akademi Neighborhood of Selçuklu. The explosion occurred suddenly in a vehicle carrying a family exiting the hospital. Following the explosion, police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

TWO PEOPLE DIED, TWO PEOPLE WERE INJURED

Health teams at the scene confirmed that a woman named R.Y. and a 3-month-old baby named M.Ç. had died. The other passengers, H.Ç. and F.Ç., were injured and taken to Selçuk University Medical Faculty Hospital for treatment.

THE CAUSE OF THE EXPLOSION WAS IDENTIFIED AS OXYGEN TANK

Preliminary findings suggest that the explosion was caused by an oxygen tank exploding in the vehicle. The fire that broke out after the explosion was extinguished by fire crews.

POLICE HAVE LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION

Police teams that arrived at the scene have started a detailed investigation. The exact cause of the explosion will be determined after technical examinations.
