Description
The Hercules Bridge (Herkül Köprüsü) in Alanya is a historic bridge located approximately 30 km from the center of Alanya. The bridge is named after the statue of Hercules, which was found 2 km away and is now housed in the Alanya Museum.
The bridge was built during the Roman period and is estimated to be around 1800 years old. Despite the exact date of construction being unknown, it is a significant architectural monument of that era.
The bridge features a large arch span with a diameter of about 10 meters, which is a unique feature of its design. The bridge is situated on the road to Sapadere Canyon, making it a convenient stop for rest during a journey along this scenic route.
In the immediate vicinity of the bridge, there is a restaurant offering homemade cuisine. This makes the bridge a popular spot for family trips and picnics in nature.
