Description
Cleopatra VII, the last queen of Hellenistic Egypt, is known for her relationships with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony. Legends link her to Alanya through her romance with Mark Antony.
According to legend, Mark Antony gave Cleopatra Alanya and its surroundings as a token of his love. Cleopatra Beach got its name from this legend. It is believed that Cleopatra and Antony bathed here, and Antony ordered golden sand to be brought to this beach so that Cleopatra would feel at home in Egypt.
