Description
Located near Cleopatra Beach, the Alanya Archaeological Museum opened in 1967 and preserves the rich heritage of the region. It invites you on a journey through eras spanning over three millennia. The Bronze Age hall features household items, weapons, and jewelry from ancient civilizations. In the Classical Period section, you will see Greek and Roman artifacts: statues, pottery, coins, and tombstones. In the Byzantine Period hall, you can admire mosaics and icons reflecting the craftsmanship of Byzantine artists. The Ottoman Period exhibition includes ceramics, textiles, and weapons, showcasing the wealth of Ottoman culture. The ethnographic collection displays traditional Turkish culture and daily life. A special highlight is the bronze statue of Hercules from the 2nd century AD. There are also outdoor exhibits with ancient columns and sarcophagi. The museum offers interactive exhibits and audio guides for an engaging visit. Open daily, except on holidays.
