Electricity struck Antalya! Shocking increased utility bills

After a 38% increase in electricity prices in Antalya, citizens were shocked upon receiving their first bills.

ELECTRICITY BILLS SHOCKED

The EPDK announced a 38% price increase for residential customers due to rising production costs. With this increase, the amount payable for a residential subscriber consuming 100 kWh of electricity became 207.23 Turkish Lira. The price hike took effect from July 1, 2024. Residents of Antalya, upon receiving their bills based on the increased tariff, were literally shocked by the high amounts on their bills.

BILLS START FROM 2,000 TL

In Antalya, where hot weather and high humidity prevail, the use of air conditioning is at a high level. July electricity bills for residential customers reportedly range from 2,000 to 8,000 Turkish Lira on average.

Following the electricity price increase, ASAT, the General Directorate of Water and Sewerage Administration under the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, also increased water prices by 446%. It is expected that the increased water bills will reflect on invoices in the coming days.
