The Mysterious Death of a Retired Teacher in Antalya

In Antalya, after a strong odor emanated from an apartment, police officers who entered the home with the help of a locksmith found the lifeless body of retired teacher Niyazi Yerli. When the police saw that there was a cable under Yerli's body, they cut off the electricity for safety reasons. It was revealed that Yerli had died from high blood pressure while attempting to fix the issue before his death.

The incident that triggered a police alert occurred around 10:30 on the third floor of a five-story apartment building located on 33rd Street in the Liman neighborhood of Konyaaltı.

THE ODOR SPREAD THROUGHOUT THE BUILDING

Residents of the apartment building reported a strong odor coming from inside the building to the manager. The manager identified that the odor was coming from the apartment of Niyazi Yerli on the third floor. Unable to reach Yerli, the building manager notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police, fire, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. The arriving teams, with the help of the fire department, opened the door. The medical and police teams then entered the apartment.

DIED 5 DAYS AGO

In the living room of the house, where the immobile body was found face down and it was determined that Niyazi Yerli had passed away approximately 5 days ago, the team noticed a cable under the body. As a precaution, they requested the building staff to cut the electricity to the apartment. After the power was turned off, the forensic team discovered a blood pressure monitor on Niyazi Yerli's arm. Following their investigation, it was determined that Niyazi Yerli had died of natural causes. To rule out all possibilities, the body was sent to the Antalya Institute of Forensic Medicine Morgue. It was reported that Niyazi Yerli was a retired German teacher and lived alone.
