They've increased in number in Alanya! Those who want to avoid fines should do this immediately

In Alanya, following the identification of a high number of unlicensed businesses, inspections have been swiftly yielding results. In 2023, 609 licenses were issued, while in 2024, there has been a notable 60% increase in the number of licenses issued compared to the same period last year.

Alanya's Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, who emphasized city discipline, rule-based management, and licensing of businesses before and after the elections, highlighted the issue during a council meeting in July: "We found that out of more than 3,000 businesses, around 1,100, or 30%, are operating without licenses," drawing attention to the longstanding licensing issue.

FINES WILL START AFTER THE THIRD ROUND

Mayor Özçelik also noted previously: “In the first round, we did inspections but did not issue fines; in the second round, we did the same. Many businesses came and obtained their licenses. Currently, there are businesses still working on getting their licenses. However, the number of businesses that have not applied for licenses at all remains quite high. Starting from the third round, we will have to begin issuing fines and taking legal actions. We have asked and insisted twice; now, in the third round, we want them to comply, otherwise, they will face penalties. Our goal is not to fine businesses but to ensure everything is officially registered.”

IN AUGUST, 175 BUSINESSES RECEIVED LICENSES

Reviewing the year 2023, licenses were issued as follows: 63 in January, 64 in February, 84 in March, 104 in April, 80 in May, 79 in June, 56 in July, and 79 in August. In 2024, licenses were issued as follows: 39 in January, 66 in February, 163 in March (during the elections), 37 in April, 156 in May (when inspections began), 141 in June, 195 in July, and 175 in August. This data shows a noticeable increase in the number of businesses obtaining licenses, both compared to the same period last year and since the inspections began in May.
