The Alanya Municipality is always by the side of children
The Alanya Municipality's specialists at the "Engelsiz Park and Life Center" aim to develop children's social skills and raise awareness about their health through activities such as safe internet usage, disability awareness seminars, and preventive health screenings organized in schools.
Faruk Konukçu, advisor to the Mayor of Alanya, stated that they have been saddened to follow the cases of cyberbullying that particularly small children face online. He noted, “To raise awareness among our children, we asked our experts to include this issue in the educational modules they use during their seminars. Rules for safe internet usage and important points to consider in online environments were explained to our children. In the future, the Alanya Municipality will do everything possible to protect our children from evil.”
Additionally, a psychologist from the Engelsiz Park and Life Center conducted a presentation at a disability awareness seminar for third-grade students, implementing various awareness activities to help the children develop empathy.
The physiotherapist from the Engelsiz Park and Life Center conducted scoliosis measurements and posture analyses for fourth-grade students in the 10-year age group to protect the spinal health of growing children. Based on the results, families were informed about protective measures for children at risk of postural disorders.
As part of the activities, first-grade students were educated about individuals with disabilities and their lives. Following this, attention, speed, and visual perception activities were carried out through logical and intelligence games. These activities helped develop children's cognitive abilities, and teachers were informed about students with observed differences.
The audiologist from the Engelsiz Park and Life Center conducted hearing screenings, considering risk factors that could lead to hearing loss. The goal of the screening was to detect hearing impairment at an early stage. Students and their families who showed suspicious signs of hearing loss were provided with information on the necessary steps to take. As a result of these activities, both students and teachers, as well as parents, expressed their gratitude to the Alanya Municipality.
