The deaths of two loggerhead turtles in Alanya in the past week have sparked reactions from animal rights activists.
The second death occurred at Yeşilöz beach following an incident that took place at Keşefli beach on October 15.
Güldane Şahin, who was walking her dog at Yeşilöz beach, found a loggerhead turtle with its head severed. She also mentioned that a similar loss had occurred at Keşefli beach recently.
Güldane Şahin said, "I feel like crying; I am very sad. I saw a loggerhead turtle with its head cut off at Yeşilöz beach. I want to call on the fishermen's cooperative: put an end to this massacre and renew your nets".
