Message from Alanya District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer on Muhtarlar Day, October 19 Dear Muhtars,

On the occasion of Muhtarlar Day, celebrated every year on October 19, I send you my heartfelt greetings and best wishes. Our muhtars are not just local administrators; they are also the voice of our society, representatives of citizens’ demands, and play a crucial role as a bridge in solving their problems. Through your duties, you promptly identify the needs of our citizens and strengthen the bond between local government and the public. Your selfless efforts constitute one of the cornerstones of our democracy.

By visiting the streets, neighborhoods, and villages daily and engaging with the people, you reinforce the sense of trust in our community and enhance social solidarity. In this respect, the institution of muhtar is one of the most important building blocks of local governments and plays a critical role in increasing citizens' trust in the state. Your efforts and sacrifices for the safety, peace, and prosperity of our neighborhoods significantly contribute to making Alanya a more livable place.

With these feelings and thoughts, I thank our muhtars for their dedicated work and services, and I congratulate all our muhtars on Muhtarlar Day, October 19.
