Everything is changing in public transportation! Face recognition cameras will be installed
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Uraloğlu announced that starting from January 1, a new system will be implemented in public transportation, with face recognition cameras being installed.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that a new system will be implemented to improve security and working conditions for drivers in public transportation. Starting January 1, 2025, buses, metros, taxis, and minibuses will be required to install face recognition technology cameras.
STRICT MONITORING
With the help of face recognition cameras, the working hours of public transport employees will be strictly monitored. Minister Uraloğlu reminded that the legal working time for drivers is 8 hours, but in some cases, it was discovered that the same driver continued to work overtime. He stated that this issue will be addressed with the new technology, saying, "Drivers can continue working overtime by changing documents. This system will prevent such violations".
ENSURING SAFETY
Minister Uraloğlu pointed out the increase in traffic accidents involving public transportation vehicles in recent years, most of which are caused by driver errors. The new system aims to regulate the drivers' working hours and ensure a safer driving environment. The implementation of this system is expected to increase safety and reduce traffic accidents in public transportation.
This regulation will be implemented in all public transportation vehicles across Turkey.
