A Heartwarming Reunion in Alanya After 55 Years
Graduates of the 5B class from Alanya Atatürk Elementary School, who finished in the 1968-1969 academic year, reunited 55 years later on Teacher’s Day to reminisce about the past. They surprised their class teacher, Nazmi Uysal, creating emotional moments.
The event, organized by Atilla İncebacak for November 24, Teacher’s Day, was held at Hotel Bella Bravo, owned by Emin Yüksel. The reunion revived decades-old friendships and was filled with heartfelt moments. Participants enjoyed a delightful dinner while sharing memories of the past. A highlight of the evening was the presence of 90-year-old Nazmi Uysal, to whom the graduates expressed their love and gratitude. A commemorative photo taken at the end of the night immortalized the event as a cherished memory. The emotional gathering became a fitting tribute to the significance of Teacher’s Day.
Additionally, it was learned that Gülsema Sert, who participated in last year’s reunion and presented flowers to Uysal, has passed away.
“An Indescribable Happiness for Me”
Welcomed with flowers, Uysal said, “Seeing my students after so many years deeply moved me. Thank you all, this is an indescribable happiness for me".
“An Unforgettable Evening for Us”
Alanya historian, researcher, and writer Oğuz Korum, speaking at the event, stated: “Reuniting after 55 years has once again highlighted the value of friendship and loyalty. This gathering became an unforgettable moment in the lives of both our teacher and the graduates".
