Hot moments in Alanya! An evacuation decision has been made

A drill was conducted at Alanya Education and Research Hospital as part of the hospital's disaster and emergency plan (HAP) in collaboration with the National Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and the fire department.

The hospital's capabilities and resources were evaluated in the event of a potential fire. Before the drill, in order to prevent panic, all individuals present in the hospital were informed through announcements. In the drill, organized in collaboration with the Antalya Emergency Health Services Directorate Medical Rescue Team (UMKE) and fire teams, the scenario involved a fire breaking out in the hospital's archive section.

During the drill, where the UMKE unit participated as evaluators and observers, a healthcare worker who noticed the fire in the archive activated the fire code. Once the fire code was activated, there was a flurry of activity in the hospital's imaging and laundry corridors. Under the leadership of Deputy Chief Physician and HAP President, Uzm. Dr. Ali Gök, the incident management team immediately gathered to assess the situation. An evacuation decision was made for certain areas of the hospital.

After the evacuation decision, information about the situation was conveyed to the 112 Emergency Health teams and the fire department. Uzm. Dr. Gök, noting that the drill tested the hospital's readiness for emergencies and intervention capabilities in the event of a disaster, said, "Through scenario-based exercises, we learn how emergency plans will be implemented. This drill is of great importance for both the healthcare personnel and the hospital management to work effectively and in coordination during a crisis. The successful completion of the drill has reinforced the hospital’s preparedness for emergencies. With this drill organized by our Civil Defense Unit, we were able to identify shortcomings and see how crisis management will be handled in the case of a potential fire. We have taken all necessary technical measures for possible disasters. I thank everyone who contributed to and participated in the successful drill".
