District Governor Ürkmezer met with special athletes

Alanya District Governor Fatih Ürkmezer met with special athletes at the Alanya Youth Center.

Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer, the District Governor of Alanya, visited the Alanya Youth Center, where he received information about the sports activities held there and met with special athletes. During the visit, he closely observed the karate training and other sports activities attended by special athletes. Speaking with participants of the karate training held as part of the Ministry of Youth and Sports’ "Happy Wednesday" project, Governor Ürkmezer presented sports uniforms to the athletes.

During the visit, special athletes stated that they participate in various disciplines such as athletics, gymnastics, and physical activities at the Alanya Youth Center. They have previously competed in various tournaments, achieving significant success, and are now preparing for new competitions.

Governor Ürkmezer emphasized the importance of integrating individuals with special needs into social and cultural life, saying: “The success of our special individuals in various sports helps them take their place in every aspect of life. We will continue to support our athletes through activities organized at our Youth Center. Their perseverance and determination serve as an inspiration to the entire community. I thank all the athletes and wish them continued success.”

Governor Ürkmezer was accompanied by Emre Kıldırgıcı, the District Director of Youth and Sports, and Ahmet Eşref Sarı, the Director of the Youth Center. It was emphasized that support for the training and participation of special athletes in competitions would be increased and that the Alanya Youth Center would become an important hub in this field.
