In Alanya, the staff was informed about climate change

Staff members from the Alanya Municipality's Climate Change and Zero Waste Department and the Parks and Gardens Department participated in the Climate Change-Dryland Landscaping training held in Antalya.

As part of the fight against climate change, a two-day training session was organized with the aim of promoting the efficient use of water resources and the implementation of practices such as dryland landscaping and water conservation in municipal green spaces. The training was conducted in collaboration with the Antalya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the Union of Mediterranean Municipalities, and the Antalya Branch of the Chamber of Landscape Architects of TMMOB.

The Climate Change-Dryland Landscaping training was attended by Nazmi Uyar, Director of the Alanya Municipality Parks and Gardens Department, Sevda Çapa, Director of the Climate Change and Zero Waste Department, and technical personnel. The training highlighted that due to global warming and environmental issues, clean water resources are diminishing every day, and especially the difficulties in accessing existing sources are being felt worldwide.

It was also noted that the unconscious use of water resources is rapidly reducing the amount of clean, drinkable water, which in turn leads to water scarcity. The following points were emphasized during the training: "Green infrastructure, which is an important tool for increasing urban resilience in the fight against the negative effects of climate change, is a network of natural, semi-natural, and cultural spaces that protects and preserves ecosystem values and functions. When combined with dryland landscaping practices, this network can achieve the highest level of water efficiency. In these times, when the effects of global climate change are being felt, the goal is to ensure that new work and projects prioritize adaptation to the changing climate, the protection of water resources, and the adoption of sustainable management practices."
