Damlataş Occo Beach is becoming a municipal tea garden

One of the first actions taken by Alanya's Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik and his team upon taking office was the opening of a new municipal tea garden in the İskele Rıhtım area, which has gained great interest from the public. Despite it being winter, the municipal tea garden is visited by an average of 3,000 to 5,000 people daily, and this number is expected to double in the summer.
Due to the Halk Kart application, the prices in the municipal tea garden are almost 60-70% lower compared to restaurants, cafeterias, and patisseries in the city center, which is attracting many locals. Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik aims to open two more new tea gardens, one in the west and one in the east of the city. It was also revealed that he plans to turn the property in Damlataş, which has long been operated under the name Occo Beach, into a new municipal tea garden.
Alanya Municipality officials pointed out that the annual rent of Occo Beach was quite low considering the location and square footage of the facility. A notice was sent to the operators to vacate the premises once their contract ends. The lease for Occo Beach is expected to end in February 2026, and Mayor Özçelik plans to build a completely new and modern facility, just like the one in İskele Rıhtım, aimed at benefiting the public.
