KONUKÇU: “WE WILL REMOVE ALL OBSTACLES”
Visiting the workshop, Faruk Konukçu spoke with the participants and tasted their delicious creations. He emphasized the importance of developing skills for individuals with disabilities, stating, "One of our main goals is to enhance the skills of our disabled citizens. For this, we have a Barrier-Free Art Center. This initiative has allowed us to help them develop their artistic skills and commercialize those abilities. This year, in our Barrier-Free Life Center, we are also launching a Barrier-Free Kitchen Project. We are grateful to the Patika Association for their support in setting up this kitchen. Together with the Culinary Arts Department of Alanya University, we organized a workshop on pastry and chocolate production. Thanks to the university staff for sharing all their academic knowledge with our disabled students. With the experience gained here, they will be able to take part in the production, sales, or management when we open our Barrier-Free Cafe. Our primary goal is to support their life skills. With the cooperation of families, the municipality, and Alanya University, we will eliminate all obstacles".
RECTOR VICE PRESIDENT YAZICI: “WE WILL MAKE THIS EVENT EVERY YEAR”
Prof. Dr. Mehmet Yazıcı, Vice Rector of Alanya University, said, “We are very happy to have our special youth and children here at our university today, and to carry out this special activity in cooperation with the Municipality. We are a university that is closely connected with Alanya. We feel this unity not just by name but in essence as well. Together with all institutions, we strive to ensure that our children, youth, women, and everyone has access to education and social interaction. Today, with our faculty members, they made beautiful chocolates and cookies. The important thing is that they have been part of this atmosphere and have experienced the university environment. We are very happy to have seen them here, and it gave us extra energy. We plan to continue holding this event every year".
