STATEMENT FROM NACI GÖRÜR
One of Turkey's leading earthquake experts, Professor Naci Görür, made remarks following the earthquake in Gazipaşa. In his statement on social media, he once again called for the construction of earthquake-resistant cities.
Görür stated that he always gives warnings and recommendations about earthquakes during his visits to different cities. He added: "I am not saying that an earthquake will definitely happen at every place I visit, nor am I providing specific dates because we don’t know. We only point out the regions where earthquakes are likely to occur. But I say this: since sooner or later, in one way or another, we will face disasters, let’s make our cities disaster-resistant and demand this".
