A 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Off the Coast of Alanya

At 12:09 PM today, a 4.6 magnitude earthquake occurred off the coast of Alanya. The tremor was felt in surrounding districts as well.

Epicenter Determined

According to Boğaziçi University’s Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute, the epicenter of the earthquake was located about 58 kilometers from Alanya and Gazipaşa, deep in the Mediterranean Sea. The earthquake was recorded as 4.6 in magnitude.

Statement from the Governorship

In a statement, the Antalya Governorship noted that no negative reports had been received following the earthquake, and that teams were continuing their fieldwork.

Citizens Remain Calm

Although the earthquake was felt by citizens, there was no major panic. Authorities urged residents to remain calm and follow official statements for updates.
