A new era begins at Alanya Municipality: the police are the first to move in
The process of moving to the new service building begins today at Alanya Municipality. The first department to move will be the Municipal Police Department.
The new municipality building, which was started in 2017 and had its foundation laid by the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, was completed after 8 years. The building faced frequent criticism at the time of the site selection due to the expected traffic congestion, but it has now been completed.
Final Touches Completed
The moving process begins as the final touches on the building are completed. Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik announced that the council meeting will be held in the new building on February 4th, which drew all attention to the location. The first department to move is the Municipal Police Department, which Özçelik is determined to strengthen. Starting today, the Municipal Police Department will move to the new building. In the old building, two personnel will remain temporarily for the transition period, while all other staff, including the Police Department Head Naci Uzunsakal, will move. After the police department, other units will gradually move, and the building will be emptied by the end of January. To minimize congestion in the building, on one hand, the technical infrastructure for more efficient use of the E-Municipality system will be strengthened, and on the other hand, frequently used units will be located on the lower floors of the building.
Efforts are underway to create additional parking areas to address potential traffic and parking issues around the new service building and its surroundings.
