Differences Between the New Alanyans Assembly and the Foreigners' Assembly, and the Future of Alanya

In an interview with Alanya Go, Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik made important statements about the future of Alanya and the significance of the New Alanyans Assembly.

At the recent meeting in Alanya, the creation of the New Alanyans Assembly and the differences between it and the Foreigners' Assembly were discussed. Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated that the New Alanyans Assembly will become fully official and will be established by the decision of the Alanya Municipal Council. He emphasized that this assembly will operate in a more organized and efficient way to solve the problems of the people residing in Alanya.

Özçelik said, "The main difference is that the Foreigners' Assembly, established 20 years ago, did not have any official status or records. The assembly we will create under the name 'New Alanyans' will be fully official, and we will have all the necessary documents, information, and records. This will allow us to continue our work in a more organized and systematic way." He also highlighted that now, instead of "foreigners," the issues of people referred to as "Alanyans" will be addressed, and he will be in close contact with the Alanya Municipality.

Speaking about the future of Alanya, Mayor Özçelik expressed that his goal is to transform Alanya back to its state 10-15 years ago. "In old Alanya, there were fewer transportation problems, and people lived in a safer and friendlier environment. Our goal is to make Alanya safer, solve transportation issues, and recreate that peaceful atmosphere from the past," he said.

Özçelik added that these changes will not happen immediately, but he hopes that significant progress will be made in the next four and a half years. "Every person I talk to says they miss the old Alanya. They say everything was better back then. We also aim to bring back those beautiful days, but in a modern way," he concluded.

The establishment of the New Alanyans Assembly and the steps taken toward the future of Alanya are considered an important development in making the city more organized, safer, and more friendly.
