ALKÜ both produced electricity and protected the environment

Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) met its energy needs with the Solar Power Plant (SPP) project in 2024, while also reducing carbon emissions by 1,012 tons and adding 1,383 equivalent trees. The SPP was also ranked in the top 45% of global electricity producers and was awarded the "Gray Whale" medal in a worldwide report.
In 2024, the university produced 2,353,156 kWh of electricity, sold 177,849 kWh of energy, and generated 629,000 lira in revenue. ALKÜ saved approximately 9.33 million lira with this project. Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan stated that renewable energy production greatly contributes to both the economy and the environment.
