50 hotels sealed in Antalya

The General Directorate of Investments and Enterprises of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism sent an urgent letter to the governors of 81 provinces, requesting the closure of accommodation facilities operating without a license and official permits. In Antalya, municipal teams sealed 50 hotels in the Kaleiçi area and its surroundings.

In the letter sent by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism to the governors, it was stated that businesses operating in violation of the relevant articles of the Tourism Promotion Law No. 2634 should be identified and necessary actions should be taken. In this context, the same notice was also forwarded to district administrations and municipalities by the provincial directorates of culture and tourism.

The ministry emphasized in its statement that accommodation facilities granted a business opening and operation permit are required to obtain a Tourism Operation Certificate within six months. It was highlighted that businesses that fail to obtain this certificate within the legal timeframe are not allowed to continue their operations.

During inspections, a list of illegally operating hotels in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya was identified. According to the decision communicated to the Muratpaşa Municipality, notifications were delivered to the relevant establishments starting from Wednesday, January 29. Municipal teams proceeded with the sealing process for the designated hotels.
