A businessman from Alanya donated his body to ALKÜ

Hülya Yanık, a longtime businesswoman in Alanya, donated her body as a cadaver to the Faculty of Medicine at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), stating that she wanted to contribute to the world of medicine and science.

While Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ) continues to develop new projects to offer better education to its students, the quality of education is continuously improving with the support of donors and philanthropists. In this context, Hülya Yanık, who has been a businesswoman in Alanya for many years, decided to donate her body to ALKÜ’s Faculty of Medicine to benefit the medical world. After the legal documents for fulfilling her will were prepared, the documents were signed in the presence of the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at ALKÜ, Prof. Dr. Jale Selli, and the Head of the Department of Anatomy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan.

DONOR HÜLYA YANIK: "THE MOST VALUABLE GIFT"

After donating her body as a cadaver, Hülya Yanık delivered an important message to humanity. She emphasized the need for more body donations to further advance the field of medicine, stating that after seeing some of her loved ones suffer from health issues, she decided to donate her body to help the medical world. Yanık continued, “The most valuable gift that a deceased person can give to the living is to dedicate their body to the development of health and science. I hope that my thoughts and decision will serve as an example to all of humanity. I’ve spent many years doing business in Alanya and have developed a deep love for the city. After my death, I wanted to make a contribution to Alanya, which is why I made this decision. Our valued professor, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan, explained all the details of the donation. I would like to thank the professors at the Department of Anatomy for their support and hope that my donation will be beneficial to the entire scientific community.”

In her statement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seda Arslan highlighted that awareness of body donations has led to an increase in donations in recent years. This development is encouraging for the medical community, she said, "Recently, the number of body donations has been increasing in Alanya. Thanks to the sensitivity of the donors, they are making a significant contribution to the medical field. We are happy about the increase in body donations in our country, especially in Alanya." Assoc. Prof. Dr. Arslan sincerely thanked donor Hülya Yanık for her thoughts and contribution.
