In Antalya, he lost his life because he didn’t smoke

In Antalya, a young paramedic was attacked by four people and lost his life for refusing to give a cigarette.
On the first day of Ramadan, Hamit Aras, an employee of the 112 Emergency Medical Services, was attacked on his way home. The attackers assaulted him after he said he did not smoke, then stole his bag and fled.
Severely injured, Aras fought for his life in intensive care for three days but could not be saved. Four suspects were detained in connection with the incident: two were arrested, while the other two were released under judicial supervision. During interrogation, the suspects admitted to beating Aras, stealing his bag, and later destroying its valuable contents by burning them.
Aras's death caused deep sorrow among his family and the medical community. His colleagues were in tears during the farewell ceremony. Aras was buried in his hometown of Kaş. His family demands the harshest punishment for those involved.
