They tried to sell Seljuk heritage in Alanya for a record price! The government blocked the sale

The 787-year-old Şarapsa Han, which belongs to the General Directorate of Foundations and was built during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev II, has become the subject of a critical decision in the public interest. The han was listed on a well-known advertisement site, and its operator attempted to transfer it for a record price. The Regional Directorate of Foundations intervened in the situation.
Last year, as a result of an open tender, the historical caravanserai was leased for 10 years with a monthly rent of 108,000 lira. However, when the tenants attempted to transfer it for an astronomical price of 30 million lira, the Regional Directorate of Foundations stepped in.
Intervention in Unlawful Transfer
Despite the fact that properties belonging to foundations cannot be transferred, an advertisement listing the han as a "lease transfer" appeared on a popular website, drawing attention. The Regional Directorate of Foundations intervened, had the advertisement removed, and informed the operating company that the transfer was invalid.
Potential Allocation to a Public Institution
If the tenants who won the tender do not operate the han themselves, their rental agreement will be terminated, and Şarapsa Han may be allocated to a public institution. This development is seen as a significant step in preserving the historical structure and ensuring its use for public benefit.
