500 lira banknotes may be released in 2025

The Central Bank of Turkey plans to release new 500 TL banknotes in 2025.

The Central Bank of Turkey (CBRT) plans to release new 500 TL banknotes in 2025 in order to facilitate cash usage amid fluctuations in exchange rates and rising living costs. Economic expert Prof. Dr. Şenol Babuşcu stated that the CBRT has completed its preparations and the 500 TL banknotes will soon be introduced. However, the Central Bank has not made an official statement on the matter yet.
