Alanya has waited for years! The fate of Aysultan Beach has been decided
The fate of Aysultan Beach, which has been left in a neglected state for many years, has finally been determined. Despite no interest in the tender for the beach's management, the municipality will open it this year and operate it on its own.
Aysultan Women's Beach, opened in 2017 by the then Mayor of Antalya, Menderes Türel, with an investment of approximately 1 million liras, operated only until 2019 and has remained idle ever since.
Various methods were tried over the years to reactivate the beach, but none yielded any results.
Finally, the beach, whose management rights were transferred to the Alanya Municipality, was put up for tender multiple times, but no progress was made in this regard.
ADDITIONAL TIME GRANTED
The last tender for the operation of Aysultan Beach, located in Alanya’s Uğrak neighborhood, took place on May 30, 2024. The tender, set with an estimated price of 1 million liras, ended without success due to a lack of interest. The Alanya Municipality granted additional time for the tender, making efforts to bring the beach into operation.
IF THERE ARE NO APPLICANTS, THE MUNICIPALITY WILL MANAGE IT
The Alanya Municipality announced that if no new applications are submitted for the tender, the beach will be opened in the summer and managed by the municipality. Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated in his remarks about Aysultan Beach that it will not serve as a women’s beach but rather as a "family beach," and individuals who are not part of a family will not be allowed to use it.
