Over the past 10 years, the proportion of elderly people in Alanya has increased. In 2014, the number of residents aged 65 and older was 1,900, while in 2024, this number reached 2,996. At the same time, the birth rate has declined over the past decade.
While Turkey's overall population density is increasing, there have been significant changes in the ratio of young to elderly people. Every year, the elderly population is replacing the younger generation, and in Alanya, the number of elderly people has grown by 34.7% over the last 10 years. In 2014, the birth rate was 4,584, but by 2024, it had dropped to 3,039. As of today, Alanya's population stands at 361,873, with 183,503 men and 178,370 women.
