The Unresolved Problem of Alanya

The traffic problem in Alanya has become an ordeal that extends from the archives of the Yeni Alanya Newspaper dated September 13, 1988 to the present day. While traffic problems were experienced even in Alanya, which had a population of 30 thousand at that time, the problem has become inextricable with the population increasing 12-13 times in the 37 years that have passed.

Especially during the tourist season, with the influx of local and foreign tourists, traffic congestion in Alanya reaches its peak. Citizens are forced to wait in traffic for hours every day due to the increasing number of vehicles and inadequate infrastructure. This situation negatively affects both the daily lives of Alanya residents and overshadows the tourists' experience in the city. Those living in Alanya and tourists visiting the city expect urgent solutions from the authorities. Citizens demand that measures such as the development of the public transportation system, the opening of new roads, the increase in parking capacity and better management of traffic flow be taken.
