In Alanya, a cat got a fishing line stuck in its mouth. The teams of the Veterinary Affairs Department of Alanya Municipality were mobilized to catch the cat and provide treatment. Hasan Sağlamer, the director of the Veterinary Affairs Department, stated that they went to the scene after receiving a report but were unable to catch the cat. However, after extensive efforts, the cat was found. "As seen in the photos, the fishing needle has pierced the cat's lip. We are being very careful because the smallest wrong move could cause more harm. That's why I assigned my team members to help catch the cat," he said.
A NEW CALL TO CITIZENS
Sağlamer mentioned that efforts to reach the cat are ongoing and repeated his earlier call to fishermen and citizens: "Make sure to check your fishing lines, and if you drop them, pick them up. Cats and other animals can seriously harm themselves by playing with fishing lines. Today's incident is a concrete example of this," he said. Sağlamer also emphasized the need for increased awareness efforts to prevent fishing line accidents.
