The former council hall of Alanya Municipality has been allocated to students

The Council Hall in the old building of Alanya Municipality has been transformed into a study area that students can use 24/7. Due to its uninterrupted and fast internet connection, the hall is heavily used by students, and free tea, coffee, and iftar meals are also served.

Until last year, this was the place where Municipal Council Members sat and made important decisions for the city. Now, students are using it.

With the collaboration of the Alanya Municipality Youth Services Department and the Mediterranean Youth Association, the old Council Hall has been turned into a study area that students can use 24 hours a day. The project, implemented with consideration of the increased needs during exam periods, aims to support the educational lives of young people. For students who want to study in a modern and comfortable environment, free tea, coffee, and hot soup are offered. During the month of Ramadan, iftar meals are provided by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Additionally, students are offered free access to fast and uninterrupted internet via fiber optic connections. This study area, which meets students' social, academic, and psychological needs, has become a meeting point for both university and high school students.

STUDENTS GIVE IT A PERFECT SCORE

The facilities offered as part of the project received high praise from students. Some of the students working in the space said, “I had trouble concentrating at home, but this place has really helped me. We can safely come and study even at late hours. The soups and drinks provided have been a great source of motivation. The dorm is both crowded and noisy, and it’s very difficult to study in my room. Outside, the cafes are expensive, so we couldn’t stay long. This place is exactly what we needed. It’s quiet, safe, and everything is free. It’s the first time I’ve studied this comfortably.”
