Antalya is locked down! Flights have been suspended, banks cannot process transactions!

Antalya Airport faced a standstill in flights and banking transactions became impossible, causing paralysis in daily life.

A software-related issue affecting numerous sectors worldwide has occurred. In a statement from the American software giant Microsoft, it was reported that necessary measures have been taken and efforts are underway to resolve the issue. However, along with other parts of the world, Antalya has been significantly impacted by this situation. Many flights at Antalya Airport were canceled, and there were disruptions in global TV broadcasts. Minister Uraloğlu addressed the crisis affecting Turkey, providing statements regarding the disruptions experienced.

THE WHOLE WORLD LOCKED DOWN

A major software update conducted by the cybersecurity company Crowdstrike resulted in a global outage, affecting Windows users, businesses, and even causing disruptions at airports worldwide. The issue related to Crowdstrike's Falcon sensor led to blue screen errors on Windows machines and caused them to get stuck in recovery loops. The disruption initially originated from countries in the East.

FLIGHTS HALTED AT ANTALYA AIRPORT

One of the companies affected by the global disruptions was Turkish Airlines. The company announced via social media that it had canceled some flights. Similar issues were experienced in Spain and other countries, leading to disruptions in air traffic. Additionally, problems with credit cards resulted in payment issues.

IN WHICH COUNTRIES DID THE PROBLEMS EXPERIENCE?

STATEMENT FROM MINISTER URALOĞLU

Abdülkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, made statements following the global malfunction affecting Turkey as well. Minister Uraloğlu noted that there has been a global software-related issue affecting various electronic systems worldwide. Many institutions, including banks, airports, and hospitals, offering services over the internet, have experienced issues. Through USOM (National Cyber Security Authority), we determined through our investigation into the global disruption on devices using Windows operating systems that the disruptions were not caused by a cyber attack. We are monitoring this global issue affecting the world and continue to work tirelessly 24/7 with our domestic and national products to protect our country's cyber borders.

STATEMENTS FROM MICROSOFT AND EXPERTS

Software giant Microsoft stated that they have taken "mitigating measures" regarding the service disruptions. Microsoft mentioned, "We are continually making improvements to our services." Berkay Çatak added, "Due to a global issue, all services utilizing Microsoft infrastructure worldwide are affected. Users should refrain from making any configuration changes at this stage."
