Forest Fire in Antalya: Rescue Teams Are Still on the Scene

A forest fire has broken out in the Kumluca district of Antalya. Due to the difficult access by land to the fire area, aerial vehicles have been deployed.

In the Kuzca neighborhood of Kumluca, located at an altitude of approximately 1600 meters, smoke was seen rising from the forest early in the morning, prompting residents to report the situation to the 177 Forest Fire Hotline. Initially, a firefighting helicopter was sent to the scene. After the helicopter's intervention, the fire was brought under control, but around 10:00 AM, the fire rekindled and began to spread due to increased wind speeds. Because ground intervention is challenging, 1 helicopter and 2 planes have been dispatched to the area.

FIREFIGHTING OPERATIONS CONTINUE

Efforts to extinguish the fire are ongoing. It is estimated that the fire started as a result of lightning during the rain at night and spread by the morning.
