ABT Received Great Appreciation in Izmir
Alanya Municipality Theatre Continues its Tours in Turkey and Abroad, Participates in the 12th International Izmir Theatre Festival
The Alanya Municipality Theatre (ABT), continuing its domestic and international tours, participated in the 12th International Izmir Theatre Festival following tours in Adana and Kazakhstan.
The 12th International Izmir Theatre Festival, organized by the Social Research Foundation for Culture and Arts (TAKSAV), took place from November 29 to December 9. This year’s festival focused on the theme of "the future," featuring 31 performances staged in 13 different venues across the city. The festival attracted strong interest from professional theatres both from Turkey and abroad. Alanya Municipality Theatre participated by presenting the play “What a Funny Story This Is” to the audience.
On the last day of the festival, December 9, Alanya Municipality Theatre performed at the Selahattin Akçiçek Cultural Center, receiving great appreciation from the audience and standing ovations. İzmir State Theatre Director Burcu Aksakal and the director of the play, Yunus Emre Bozdoğan, were also among the audience. TAKSAV management presented plaques and flowers to the actors of Alanya Municipality Theatre.
Alanya Municipality Theatre Director Hüseyin Çinal said, "This is our third tour this season. After Adana and Kazakhstan, we participated in the International Izmir Theatre Festival. On the last day of the festival, our play 'What a Funny Story This Is' was performed by our actors. It was an honor to be part of 31 city theatres, and we are very happy. Our play and the actors' performances were highly appreciated by the İzmir audience. We will continue our efforts to represent Alanya in the best way possible".
