In Alanya, students are getting introduced to art
Students from Mahmutseydi Hamdullah Emin Paşa Middle School, who are educated through the transportation system, visited the 19th International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium.
The 19th edition of the International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium, organized by the Alanya Municipality, continues. As the one-month marathon, where master sculptors showcase their works, comes to an end, students from different schools in the city are visiting the symposium area.
Students Were Introduced to the Delicacies of Sculpture Art
The symposium, where students get introduced to art, hosted students from Mahmutseydi Hamdullah Emin Paşa Middle School, who are educated through the transportation system. During the visit, the students were accompanied by Municipal Advisor Nazmi Zavlak, Council Member İrem Yunusoğlu, Director of Parks and Gardens Nazmi Uyar, Artist Emine Nur Çakır, School Principal Akın Şahin, Teachers Leyla Yıldız, Hayri Nergiz, Kevser Kileci, and Ali Çirili. A total of 38 students from 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades at Mahmutseydi Hamdullah Emin Paşa Middle School visited the symposium area with Doç. Yıldız Güner, an instructor from Mimar Sinan University of Fine Arts. Güner explained the delicacies of sculpture art, the design of sculptures, examples from art history, and basic concepts of sculpture to the students, examining each work. He answered the students' questions about how to become a sculptor and provided information about the works created as part of the symposium. In addition to food and drink refreshments, the students were gifted coloring books and crayons, and they had the opportunity to chat with the sculptors and ask them questions. The visits will continue with schools from various points in Alanya until the last day of the symposium.
