Intense Inspections of Unlicensed Businesses in Alanya
The Alanya Municipality Police Department has been working tirelessly to ensure the city’s peace and welfare. In 2024, they issued 7,345 administrative sanctions, prepared 1,628 reports, and executed 7,521 notices. Additionally, license inspections were conducted in 11,312 businesses.
The department operates across Alanya, from the easternmost to the westernmost parts, aiming to protect public health, maintain order, and prevent unfair practices. They respond to citizen complaints while conducting routine inspections and checks.
In 2024, alongside administrative sanctions, 1,324 penalties were issued to unlicensed street vendors, and 437 fines were imposed for begging. Regarding sidewalk encroachments, 1,241 reports were prepared as part of city discipline measures.
Efforts to eliminate unlicensed businesses included inspections of 11,312 enterprises. Business owners were given time to obtain licenses, with fines imposed only after three warnings. Restaurants, bakeries, and pastry shops were also inspected throughout the year with food safety experts.
Mayor of Alanya, Osman Tarık Özçelik, expressed gratitude to the municipal police for their dedication:
“Since taking office, we have restructured the municipal police department significantly. We provided training and improved their working conditions. As a result, they are carrying out their duties with great commitment. We supported both citizens and businesses while promptly addressing complaints and prioritizing public health. Licensing inspections will continue until there are no unlicensed businesses left. Our goal is to make Alanya a disciplined city where residents live in peace and safety.”
