Be cautious in public transportation and crowded areas in Alanya! Wear a mask

Alanya District Health Director Dr. Nadir Aldemir commented on the news about an outbreak of illness reported in the national media, stating that such a situation does not exist. However, due to the increase in seasonal flu cases, he emphasized the importance of elderly people, those with chronic illnesses, and individuals with weakened immune systems wearing masks in crowded environments.

Dr. Aldemir explained that while recent reports in the national media referred to an outbreak, there is no epidemic in the region.

However, he emphasized that elderly people, those with chronic illnesses, and people with weakened immune systems need to be cautious, and wearing masks can serve as a protective measure for these groups.

"SEASONAL FLU CASES ARE INCREASING"

Aldemir noted that seasonal flu cases naturally increase in winter, stating, "Currently, there is no situation in Alanya that could be defined as an outbreak. However, wearing a mask, especially in public transport, closed, and crowded areas, is an effective method to protect against seasonal flu." He also highlighted the importance of individuals paying attention to personal hygiene.

"PEOPLE IN RISK GROUPS MUST BE CAREFUL"

Dr. Aldemir pointed out that flu infections primarily affect the elderly, those with chronic diseases, and individuals with weakened immune systems. "People in these groups need to wear masks and maintain social distancing when in environments where flu cases are common. Additionally, getting a flu vaccine will serve as a protective measure," he stated.
