The Future of Alanya's Showcase — The Pier Area Is Being Determined!

A consultation meeting was held regarding infrastructure issues and regulations for the Alanya Port and pier area. The meeting, chaired by Alanya District Governor Dr. Fatih Ürkmezer, took place in the municipal council hall of Alanya. It was attended by Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, relevant institution heads, Chamber Presidents, Political Party Leaders, Alanya Fishermen's Cooperative President Kerim Balıktay, and cooperative members.

During the meeting, Governor Ürkmezer and Mayor Özçelik shared information about the discussions held in Ankara with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry regarding the Alanya Port. Governor Ürkmezer commented on the matter, saying, "The port and pier area are among the most important regions of Alanya. We held necessary meetings in Ankara with the participation of our Mayor, the leaders of political parties, and former Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu at the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. During the meeting, we raised the issues concerning the rights of Fishermen’s Cooperative members and the problems in the pier area, and we have initiated steps for finding legal solutions. Our goal is to resolve the infrastructure and physical problems of the port, which is the showcase of Alanya, and make the necessary regulations. We will complete the necessary works in the pier area and offer it to our citizens."

During the meeting, Governor Ürkmezer and Mayor Özçelik listened to the opinions and suggestions of Fishermen's Cooperative President Kerim Balıktay and the members, and discussed the next steps.
