They don't want to see e-scooters in Alanya!

The e-scooters, which have become a major issue in city traffic, have been restricted with a new software system, but the system is considered ineffective, according to Mayor Akkaya, who said, “The only solution is to completely remove them.”
For years, e-scooters, driven by reckless riders, have been a major problem in Alanya. A software system has been implemented to set limits, making the vehicles unusable in high-speed areas. However, it is reported that the system is insufficient to reduce the dangers in Alanya's traffic. Alanya Drivers’ Chamber President Ali Akkaya stated that these vehicles continue to pose significant risks in the city, saying, "This limit system is insufficient. These vehicles are still a risk throughout Alanya."
Alanya Municipality Urban Aesthetic Board President and Mayor's Advisor Abdurrahman Açıkalın stated, “One of the most important issues for Alanya is the ‘Binbin’ issue. It has become essential for all cities, but it's also a big dilemma. The greatest danger was that Binbins were everywhere. These vehicles should be used on the coastal road. We don’t want Binbins to go on the 25-meter road or the ring road. We’ve limited them with a software format to prevent them from using those areas. Another issue is the speed. They should be going a maximum of 20 km/h, but they are moving much faster. We’ve also imposed a speed limit. The e-scooter companies will be fined. We have also added 19 new stops to the existing 16, making a total of 35 stop points after meeting with architects.”
“THE ONLY SOLUTION IS TO REMOVE THEM COMPLETELY”
Although the software solution provided limits, Akkaya stated that it is inadequate, saying, "After the Antalya Governor's order to collect them last year, these vehicles are still actively used in the market. The speed limit is applied on certain roads, but Alanya is not suitable for that. Everywhere is city traffic. The only solution is to completely remove them."
