The number of tourists coming to Antalya is decreasing

The total number of tourists arriving in Antalya over three months amounted to 855,429, representing a 15% decrease compared to last year. During this three-month period, the highest number of tourists in Antalya came from Germany, while the number of foreign tourists declined across all countries except Poland.
The total number of visitors to the tourism hub of Antalya over three months dropped by 15% to 855,429. Among them, 694,254 were foreign tourists, while 161,175 were Turkish citizens living abroad. Last year, during the same period, 1,005,000 people visited Antalya. In the first three months of last year, the number of foreign tourists exceeded 858,000, but in the January-March period of this year, the decline reached 20%.
The number of Turkish citizens visiting Antalya increased by 9% compared to the 147,000 recorded in the same period last year. In March 2025, a total of 365,784 tourists visited the city, marking a 27.7% decrease from the same period last year. Among them, 321,593 were foreign tourists, while 44,191 were Turkish citizens. In March of last year, Antalya welcomed 506,000 tourists.
The number of foreign tourists saw a decline of 29.6%. When analyzing the countries of origin of foreign visitors to Antalya during the three-month period, Germany ranked first. A total of 187,627 tourists arrived from Germany, accounting for 27% of the total number of foreign visitors. In the same period last year, the number of German tourists exceeded 279,000, but this year, it dropped by 32%. The second-largest group of visitors came from the Russian Federation, with 137,166 Russian tourists arriving in Antalya, reflecting a 20% decrease compared to the previous year.
The third-largest group was British tourists, with 114,096 arrivals, making up more than 16% of the total. The decline in British tourist numbers was recorded at 8.5%.
Due to Nowruz celebrations, Antalya typically experiences high demand from Iranian tourists in March. However, this year saw a significant drop. Last year, more than 30,000 Iranian tourists visited Antalya over three months, whereas this year, the number fell by 40% to just 18,000.
