A 2-Year-Old Child Was Beaten at Daycare: When I Picked Her Up, Her Face Was Disfigured

In a private daycare in Antalya, a two-year-old child was beaten by two other children. The mother, who filed a complaint, said, "When I picked her up, her face was mutilated, swollen, covered in blood and bruises." The father added, "In the footage, two children are mercilessly beating my daughter, climbing on her for 15 minutes, pulling off her diaper, dragging her on the floor, kicking her, and biting her all over."

The incident was recorded by security cameras in the nap room of a private daycare in the Muratpaşa district of Antalya. The family filed a complaint about the incident.

Mother Buse Altıparmak dropped her daughter off at the daycare on the morning of March 28 and went to work. Around lunchtime, the daycare called and informed her that her daughter had been bitten by another child in the cafeteria. When Buse went to pick up her child, she noticed wounds, bruises on her face, and blood spots on her nose and ears.

THEY OBTAINED THE VIDEO FOOTAGE THROUGH THE PROSECUTOR

Buse Altıparmak, along with her husband Onur, took their daughter to the hospital. Later, through the prosecutor's request, they gained access to the security camera footage, which showed their daughter being beaten by two older children at the daycare. The couple filed a complaint about the daycare and those responsible for the incident.

"MY DAUGHTER'S EYES WERE SWOLLEN FROM CRYING"

Buse described how the daycare told her that her daughter had been bitten by another child and assured her that she was fine. When Buse requested photos of the bite, she was told that the room was dark and the children were sleeping. Buse continued:

"The daycare told me that the child who beat my daughter was no longer attending. I became even more worried and went to the daycare. They told me there was no footage of the incident and brought my daughter to me. When I picked her up, her face was mutilated, swollen, covered in blood and bruises. I held her in my arms and saw that blood had dried in her nose and ears. When I asked what had happened, they again said it was just a bite. My daughter’s eyes were swollen from crying. The daycare didn't immediately take her to the hospital, and only started talking about calming her down. I took my daughter to the hospital, where the doctor said the wounds were not from a simple bite, but from serious physical abuse. We got a report of the injuries."

"MY DAUGHTER WAS TORTURED FOR 15 MINUTES"

Father Onur Altıparmak said that he learned of the incident when his wife called him. He described that when he saw his daughter, her face was bruised, and there was blood on her ears and nose, and her body was covered with injuries. At first, the daycare did not show them the video footage, but after contacting the prosecutor, they gained access to it. Onur said:

"The footage shows that when my daughter was being beaten, there were no teachers or caretakers around. The video shows two children mercilessly beating my daughter. For 15 minutes, they climbed on her, took off her diaper, dragged her on the floor, kicked her, and bit her all over. She was subjected to such cruelty, and they kept tormenting my daughter."

AFTER THE INCIDENT, THEY TRIED TO SEDATE HER

Onur added that after the incident, no ambulance or police were called, and they only tried to calm the child. The family filed a complaint against the responsible parties, including the daycare management.
