"Narkoçelik-42" operation in Antalya and 18 other provinces

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that 49 suspects were apprehended in the "Narkoçelik-42" operations targeting drug manufacturers in Antalya and 18 other provinces.

In his statement on social media, Minister Yerlikaya said: “Under the coordination of the Narcotics Crimes Department of the General Command of the Gendarmerie, operations ‘Narkoçelik-42’ were conducted by provincial gendarmerie forces in Diyarbakır, Istanbul, Ankara, Van, Samsun, Erzurum, Manisa, Artvin, Ardahan, Antalya, Balıkesir, Siirt, Tekirdağ, Karaman, Gaziantep, Edirne, Aksaray, Kahramanmaraş, and Hakkari. During the operations, 1 ton 971 kilograms of narcotic substances, 4 million 389 thousand cannabis and skunk roots, and 267 thousand 593 narcotic pills were seized. 49 drug traffickers were arrested. 22 were imprisoned, judicial control measures were imposed on 3, and the legal proceedings for 24 suspects are ongoing.”
