Drivers in Alanya who fail to open ramps have been warned
The "Barrier-Free Traffic" project, carried out in coordination with the Alanya Municipality and the District Police Department, continues to progress rapidly with field implementations.
As part of these activities, members of the Municipality’s Barrier-Free Park and Life Center, along with police officers and traffic inspectors, conducted inspections on Atatürk Street. The inspections aim to ensure the inclusion of individuals with disabilities in daily life, remove obstacles they face while moving around the city, and address issues in public transportation. Warnings were issued to careless drivers blocking pedestrian crossings and to public bus drivers who refused to open ramps for individuals with disabilities.
"Removing Obstacles Across the City"
Providing information about the work, Barrier-Free Park and Life Center Manager Münir Altıoğlu stated: “In response to complaints from our citizens with disabilities, we first held a meeting with the public transportation cooperative to develop a roadmap for resolving the issues. During our visit to the District Police Chief, we incorporated the Community Support Police and Traffic Division into the project. During inspections aimed at removing obstacles across the city, we both identify barriers and take necessary actions, as well as issue warnings to careless drivers and public bus drivers. Our law enforcement officers also impose penalties on drivers who commit legal violations".
