In Alanya, a man defrauded people using his ex-wife's phone
During the trial at the 1st Heavy Criminal Court in Alanya, H.D., who is being held in Mersin Prison, admitted to committing fraud using the mobile phone of his ex-wife, İ.G., which was forcibly taken from him. The hearing was postponed to March 14 due to incomplete documentation.
The trial was attended by H.D., who participated via SEGBIS, his ex-wife İ.G., his fiancée S.K., K.S., the victim Mehmet S.B., and lawyers. It was alleged that İ.G. created a fake website to carry out the fraudulent activities.
Victim Mehmet S.B. reported that while searching for a rental house in Alanya, he came across a fake rental advertisement online. After reviewing the ad, he sent 4,500 TL to the person he met through the internet. However, when he tried to contact the person by phone later, he realized that both the website and the phone number were fake. Mehmet S.B. reported the incident to the police.
During the trial, H.D. acknowledged that the phone belonged to him but stated that his ex-wife İ.G. had threatened him and his child to force him to give up the phone, which was then used by İ.G. H.D. also stated that his ex-wife opened the fake website to commit fraud through rental advertisements. H.D. further clarified that his fiancée S.K. had no involvement in the fraud activities.
The court decided to postpone the trial to March 14, 2025, to complete the missing documents related to the fraud charges.
