The Mayor of Alanya, Osman Tarık Özçelik, made a statement about the fire safety measures taken at accommodation establishments in the district after the hotel fire in Bolu.

Mayor Özçelik said the following:

"WE DRAW ATTENTION TO THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE FIRE INCIDENT IN BOLU"

"We express our condolences for the tragic loss of life in the fire at the Kartalkaya Ski Resort in Bolu and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. This unfortunate event has once again highlighted the importance of fire safety and inspections in accommodation establishments. As the Municipality of Alanya, we are working with great diligence to ensure the safety of accommodation facilities in our district."

MANDATORY FIRE SAFETY REPORT

"Before granting a business license, it is mandatory to obtain a fire safety compliance report from the Alanya Fire Department, which is affiliated with the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Licenses are not issued to facilities that do not meet fire safety standards or lack a certificate of occupancy (iskan)."

TOURISM OPERATION CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENT

"After obtaining the business license, a Tourism Operation Certificate must be obtained from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. The Ministry conducts strict inspections during this process and informs our municipality about establishments that do not meet the required criteria."

CANCELLATION OF LICENSE AND NECESSARY MEASURES

"During inspections, if it is found that an establishment has not taken the necessary safety measures, its license may be revoked. In such cases, all necessary steps, including the cancellation process, are promptly taken."

ALL SAFETY MEASURES ARE BEING TAKEN IN ALANYA

"As the Municipality of Alanya, we will continue to work in collaboration with relevant institutions to ensure the safety of both our citizens and visitors, and to take all necessary precautions."

Mayor Özçelik emphasized that they will continue to work in close coordination with both public and private sector institutions to prevent such incidents.
