International Women's Day Not Forgotten at ALKÜ

On International Women's Day, March 8, various events were held at Alanya Alaaddin Keykubat University (ALKÜ), and Rector Türkdoğan distributed carnations to female staff members.
As the country witnessed colorful celebrations for International Women's Day, ALKÜ also marked the occasion with several activities. In the first event of the day, ALKÜ Rector Prof. Dr. Kenan Ahmet Türkdoğan distributed carnations to female staff members in honor of International Women's Day. During the flower distribution, Rector Türkdoğan engaged in conversations with female employees and took note of their requests.
In his speech, Rector Türkdoğan highlighted the importance of women, stating, "You are very valuable to us. I hope that International Women's Day leads to further progress and opportunities for our women." Many events were held throughout the day at ALKÜ, including the flower distribution. The event was attended by Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Atıf Bayramoğlu, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Kılıç, Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karahan, ALKÜ Secretary General Hüseyin Er, deans, heads of vocational schools, academics, and students.
The ALKÜ Women's and Family Studies Application and Research Center (ALKÜKAM) hosted events in cooperation with the Alanya Municipality and Alanya Social Services Directorate for International Women's Day. Among the events was the "Strong Women, Strong Society" panel, which aimed to raise awareness about women's rights and violence against women.
The panel was held in the Head Teacher Atatürk Conference Hall of the Faculty of Education, and ALKÜKAM Director Assoc. Dr. Meltem Akça moderated the session. In the panel, speakers such as Uzm. Dr. Hale Bozkurt, Uzm. Dr. Tuğba Dağaşan, Psychological Counselor Gülsüm Türkeli, Social Services Specialist Duygu Urlu, Lecturer Leyla Akbulut, Psychotherapist Yasemin Şahin, Farmer Kristina Hüddoğlu, Family Counselor Ayten Güngörmüş, and Psychologist İrem Gül Sönmez shared their experiences and discussed the power of women.
ALKÜ Celebrates International Women's Day with Various Events
Events organized by ALKÜKAM were attended by Alanya Council Members Ufuk Aras Solmaz, Irem Yunusoğlu, Ayşe Yakar Anılgan, and Halime Dim Ceylan. In the discussion, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karahan emphasized the role and importance of women in Turkish society.
The events continued with the "Ebru Art Workshop," organized by ALKÜKAM and the Alanya Municipality. Participants attended the workshop, led by Handicrafts Teacher Ayşegül Macar Koçak, where students and ALKÜ Tazelenme University students created Ebru art under her guidance.
The final event of the day was the "8th March International Women's Day Exhibition" held at the Alanya Municipality Culture Center. The exhibition was coordinated by Assoc. Dr. Meltem Akça and curated by Lecturer Serdar Aslan. The opening ceremony was attended by Alanya Council Members Ufuk Aras Solmaz, Irem Yunusoğlu, Ayşe Yakar Anılgan, Halime Dim Ceylan, and ALKÜ Secretary General Hüseyin Er. The exhibition received significant attention, and visitors learned that the paintings on display were created using innovative methods.
Secretary General Hüseyin Er presented a certificate of appreciation to Curator Lecturer Serdar Arslan for his contribution to the exhibition. The event concluded with a group photo. During the 8th March International Women's Day events, carnations and gifts were distributed to female employees by Eğitim Bir-Sen and the Turkish World Science and Art Society.
A visit was organized to Muzkent Primary School, led by Gazipaşa Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Vocational School, with the participation of the Gazipaşa Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences, ALKÜ Gazipaşa Personal Development, and ALKÜ Gazipaşa Hürkuş Aviation Enthusiasts Club. During the visit, Gazipaşa National Education Director Remzi Yetkin and branch managers, Gazipaşa Mustafa Rahmi Büyükballı Vocational School Director Assoc. Dr. Mehmet Kahyaoğlu, Deputy Director Lecturer Ömer Yenipazarlı, club students, and Muzkent Village Headman Fatih Görgülüer attended.
On the occasion of 8th March International Women's Day, the club students presented gifts made using origami techniques to female teachers and staff working at the primary school. The event ended with various gifts being presented to kindergarten and primary school students, followed by a group photo.
