Flood Prevention Efforts in Gazipaşa: ASAT Launches Investment of 35 Million TL for Infrastructure Strengthening.

The water and wastewater management of Antalya Metropolitan Municipality (ASAT) has taken action to create a permanent solution to prevent flooding in Gazipaşa's city center. A 35 million TL investment, initiated in the İstiklal District, aims to strengthen the rainwater infrastructure.

CONTINUOUS WORK PROGRESSING ASAT

General Directorate is tirelessly working to strengthen Gazipaşa's infrastructure. In the first phase, the maintenance and cleaning of approximately 50 kilometers of sewer and rainwater lines in the district were completed.

PREVENTING FLOODS

Now, ASAT teams are implementing a comprehensive rainwater infrastructure project in the İstiklal District to prevent frequent flooding in Gazipaşa's city center, especially during heavy rainfall. This project aims to prevent water accumulation in the district center.

As part of the project, a 60-meter-long culvert with dimensions of 3x2 meters will be constructed at the intersection of Mehmet Oğuz Boulevard and Şehit Süleyman Gür Boulevard.

CULVERT CONSTRUCTION

Additionally, another culvert with dimensions of 2x2 meters will be constructed along Cemal Gürsel Street, extending from Alparslan Türkeş Park to the rear of the İhsan Oğuz Business Center, covering an area of 370 meters. These efforts will result in a total culvert length of 535 meters. Furthermore, a 660-meter-long drainage line will be built to collect rainwater from İstiklal Park and surrounding areas and will flow through Rahmi Ataöv Street, connecting to Yaşar Doğu Street.
