Aktaş Waterfall Will Become a New Ecotourism Route

Aktaş Waterfall, a natural wonder in Düzce's Akçakoca district, will be the new ecotourism route for travelers with its completed walking track.

The "Aktaş Waterfall Ecotourism Area and Nature Walking Track" project, which was launched in 2022 in cooperation with Akçakoca District Governorship and General Directorate of Forestry, has been completed. With the project, walking paths, observation terraces and recreation areas were built around Aktaş Waterfall, located in Aktaş village, 11 kilometers from the district.

The walking track has also eliminated the transportation problem for those who visit the region to listen to the sound of water falling from 50 meters high and see the rich vegetation surrounding it.

In his statement, Akçakoca District Governor Mustafa Can stated that the track, for which project work started 1.5 years ago in Aktaş Waterfall, one of the natural wonders of the district, will make a significant contribution to regional tourism.

Stating that they aim to make Aktaş Waterfall more attractive and provide economic contribution to the people of the region with the project, Can stated that the waterfall, which is the 64th of the ecotourism areas of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Turkey, has already become the center of attention of local and foreign tourists.

Thanking those who contributed to the project, Can called on all nature lovers to discover the natural beauties of Akçakoca, which is a center of attraction with its Genoese Castle, Fakıllı Cave, historical neighborhood and mosques, and 15 beaches, all of which are sandy.
