That point of Alanya is opening up to tourism
In the Bademağacı neighborhood of Alanya, an old school area that had been abandoned for years is being transformed into a social and cultural space thanks to the efforts of the Alanya Municipality team.
Bademağacı, which was a neighborhood with a population of migrants in the early 1990s, continues to gain attention, especially after the pandemic, due to heavy migration. This neighborhood, close to the city center, with mountain air and advantages in terms of transportation, began to face some problems due to the sudden increase in population.
Water supply continues to be a major issue, and the neighborhood muhtar and his team are making significant efforts to solve it. After the local elections, where three candidates competed, muhtar candidate Hidayet Tufan and his team won, and the changes in the neighborhood became evident. For the first time, a muhtar candidate ran with a program and won. In his program, he identified all the issues of the neighborhood and its surroundings, and began work on the former school land in the center, known as "Ciren Boğazı."
According to the information provided by the Alanya Municipality Department of Public Works, infrastructure work for social and cultural purposes, as well as a muhtar office, has been completed in part on the 7,000-square-meter site in recent days.
WE WILL START CAMPING TOURISM
Muhtar of Bademağacı, Hidayet Tufan, in his statement said, "We didn’t enter the elections to compete. We entered to serve. We prepared a program with my colleagues. The fifth point of our program was the rehabilitation of this area and opening it for the residents of the neighborhood and the people of Alanya. This area is 19 kilometers from the city center and 810 meters above sea level. It’s a scenic location. Once the work here is finished, it will be a picnic and recreation area for both us and those escaping the summer heat of the city. In the future, there will be a cafeteria, tea house, library, children’s play area, walking paths, as well as a football field, and spaces for basketball and volleyball. We want to host people who want to camp with tents or vehicles from all over our country. We are just at the beginning. We are working to complete the toilet and lighting installations by March."
WE EXPECT HELP FROM THE MUNICIPALITY Muhtar Tufan also mentioned that they plan to hold an important event in this picnic and recreation area in the spring. "To make our event happen, we are waiting for help from the Alanya Municipality. I would like to express my gratitude on behalf of our neighborhood to Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, his deputies, the Public Works teams, and all the hardworking colleagues for the work they’ve done in our neighborhood," he added.
